When I was younger, I was mildly obsessed with all things Babar. Upon revisiting these posters, I noticed that the de Brunhoff's also had a hot air balloon thing, too. Aren't these images just so wonderful?
PS if you like hot air balloosn, you might like the book by Australian author Jacquelyn Moriarty, called "I have a bed made of buttermilk pancakes." It's a delightful book.
I am totally requesting some of the Babar books from the library to read. Does anyone remember the old VHS Babar tapes? I recall Babar and his family being stuck in a burning building. I asked my mom about it and she had no clue what I was talking about...
Oh yes! My daughter had Babar and Celeste, sewn and mildly stuffed, on her wall. Celeste is still with us, despite the fact that my daughter graduated from college on Tuesday. And the flying sins and virtues, ah, how astonishing.
So glad you're all feeling him! I has such a moment of nostalgia when I found these. I figured the Pal might freak out if I hung one in our house, but I still kind of want to!
Babar!! The books (and later the cartoons) were ever present during my childhood as well. Thanks for the trip down memory lane :)
