Summery sandals

I keep waiting for summer to hit San Francisco. We've had a few warm days - a few days where I've even left my coat at home. But not paint-your-toenails-red-and-get-out-the-sundress warm. I will continue to post sockless-porn like these shoes until I am able to wear them outside. Word.

Emily Green Necklaces

Have you seen the work of Melbourne-based artist Emily Green? I love the simplicity and color choices of her bead work - this one, 'Violet', is wonderful.

Happy Big Five

Five years ago today it all started. This little old blog was born and ever since then I've posted almost daily. It's seen me go from living alone, to living with the Pal, to finishing my thesis, getting engaged, to starting work, to marrying the Pal, to moving the the US and a whole lot more in between.

Thanks for sticking around and reading - I love seeing your comments and it's so nice to have a place to share things on my corner of the internet. You're wonderful. Here's to the adventures yet to come.

Inspiration Station

I haven't made time to do this yet, but I'm planning to sit down and work out what the next steps are in decorating our apartment. A few things aren't quite right. Our overhead lights, for example, are too bright and we need either some sort of dimmer arrangement or some lamps. We also have way too many bare walls which are begging for some interesting artwork and colour. I love these abstract paintings in Orlando's home above - might be just want the doctor ordered.

Gallery Wall

What a great combination of pictures hanging - the blues and the greys and the blacks work so well, with just a dash of neon. Duly noted!

Just delightful. These sandwich boards are gorgeous - I love the one with the houses, but really they're all pretty great.

Clutching at straws

I just don't go out enough to swanky events to justify such expensive clutches as these. But if I did, then I'd definitely have one. I love that they could go with most outfits and are a little different compared to the usual black purse.

I've thought a lot about what the things in my wardrobe are that I do/should spend a lot of money on and what I can get away with finding bargains for. And I realised it's almost the same theory that I use to think about how I decorate our apartment. The big things need to be invested in - an Eames chair or a good leather bag or pair of shoes will last and look fantastic for a long time. Then you can buy a cheap throw pillow or t shirt that is more of a trend item and know that you can change it out when stripes aren't cool anymore. (By the way - that will never happen. Stripes will always, especially if they're black and white, be cool).

So in short, no pricey clutches for me right now. BUt aren't they pretty?
