Yep, it's been pretty quiet around these parts. Life has become quite busy - in good ways - but I find any extra time is spent tidying the house, working or sleeping! I recently had the pleasure of going to France for a few days for work and this was one of my favorite photos, taken outside of my hotel window, of all places! Just perfection. Forgive the sporadic posting :)

Santorini longing
Today is the day that my Mum is meeting my sister over in Santorini and I'm so envious. They're going to have such a nice time - I have to stop myself from jumping on a plane and joining them! Here's to blue skies, cool breezes and amazing food. (Don't tell me if you eat halloumi - that will be just too much to bear!).

Bodega Bay
Spent an amazing weekend up at Bodega Bay which is my new favourite place. I couldn't capture the view from our holiday house, but light was pouring in this big window all day. Spectacular.

Beautiful door
As a lover of doors, this one struck me as pretty extraordinary. The colours! The detail! The fact that it sort of looks like giraffe necks! Perfect.

Happy Redwoods!
Some more pics from our road trip. We hired a convertible and Internet, apart from the looks from some people like we were douchebags (there is definitely a douchey quality to convertibles), it was so. Much. Fun. We drive up through the Redwoods and the views and trees are simply breathtaking. No photo could do them justice, but I can shut my eyes and be back amongst green wonderfulness. Have a lovely weekend. xx

Portland Rose Garden
Well I'm back in SF. In fact, today is my first day of work, so wish me luck please!
I wanted to share a few pictures from the road trip we just did up the Californian coast up to Portland - such a spectacular trip. These photos are from the Portland Rose Garden - can I just say ohmygoodness? Such a gorgeous, sunny day and the smell of these roses was extraordinary, I took far too many pictures to post here, but here are a few of my favourites. Please visit this garden if you're ever in Portland - it's so, so worth it.

Some news!
So I have some big news to share. The Pal and I are moving to San Francisco! Today is my last day at work in Sydney, and in a week, we head over to the US.
I am so incredibly excited, but also like it's all a bit surreal: it feels really odd to think about it, and of course, there's a hundred things on the to-do list, too.
One of the fun things about moving is that we've sold all of our furniture and we'll be buying new things over there, so I'll be sharing how we fit out our new apartment, and settle in to a new city. Looking forward to some new adventures!

Plants in Japan
I was so enamoured with all the plants in pots outside hundreds of houses and shops in Japan. Small collections of pretty gardens, perched on the edge of window sills and footpaths, clump together to form tiny landscapes of green. Just perfect.

Temples in Japan
I truly had no idea how stunning these would be, but we went on a Temple bender in Kyoto, visiting old towns and temples and shrines for three days. The most superb gardens, simplicity and precision I've ever seen: you must go if you like any of these things! (And these photos don't capture the bright greens and the crisp air - but close your eyes and try to imagine).
All photos by me.

Kyoto Garden
Well Internet - turns out I snuck away to Japan for a week with my Mum and my sister Em and am only just back. I thought I'd show you some of my photos over the coming weeks - we had such a wonderful time and even though I've hit the ground running at work again, I have so many happy memories sustaining me.
This is the most beautiful garden shop/florist I've perhaps ever been to in Kyoto - simple, green and gorgeous. I can close my eyes and be back there in an instant...

Be Still My Beating Luggage
Internet. I just had to share with you how brilliant this suitcase is. My parents bought it for me for Christmas last year and it's quite amazing. First, it's incredibly light. Second, it's super dexterous and easy to move and lastly, it's shiny and pale green. If you're planning to travel, I guarantee this to be a most excellent travelling companion.

Midnight in Paris
I saw this film this week and just loved it. Just charming, simple, well-written and, well, kind of a fantasy of mine. Have you seen it? What did you think?

Gone AWOL
Oops. So I went walkabout. I had planned to blog on-the-go last week, but ended up visiting San Francisco for work, and here I am back again, with a little bit of blog-guilt.
To make up for it, here is (one of the many) glorious meals I had. This one is a Napa Valley wine with a life-changing cheese plate at Mission Cheese on Valencia St. And yes, those are dried cranberries, figs and peaches near the bread, and yes, they were awesome.

Bali
These are two of my favourite pics from our trip to Bali. To quote Abbey Nova, this is your daily dose of green! These were taken by the Pal with a panorama app that stitches together your shots, and they were taken in The Maya - a magnificent hotel we stayed at in Ubud.

Seoul Stationery
I've been meaning to post some of my stationery finds from Seoul - here's a lovely hot air balloon that I bought at Artbox in MyeongDong. A stationery paradise. And yes, that's my fingertip at the bottom.

Old school luggage
I already have great luggage for travelling, but think this suitcase is an adorable take on old school trunks.

Country Tent

Everything about this just makes me relax. Thinking of printing this out and hanging it up at work.
