Faces in envelopes

I may never address an envelope in the same way after seeing this. Ears!!  Too wonderful.

Send More Mail

Have you seen this lovely blog called Send More Mail? It has made me want to trawl through and find all my old stamps and buy more and, perhaps intuitively, send more mail. Send letters, my blogging friends! Buy old fashioned stamps and stick them to paper and post away!

Parchment Post

I've just bought a subscription to Parchment Post - a service that sends you six new cards every three months: what a genius idea! I love letter writing, and always make a big effort to try to write at least a letter a week, but I've been falling a bit behind of late. I'm hoping these card work as inspiration and motivation.

House Envelopes

These houses, from Camilla Engman, made me smile. I think they'd look beautiful hanging on a wall.

Every Day in May: 28th May

I am very excited about these little ones! This is a new line of stationery I've made called 'Map Moons'. Each card is stitched with vintage pieces from a Russian atlas, and each envelope is also lined with a matching map piece.
The cards themselves have a lovely linen finish, and rounded corners.
I've been thinking about making these for ages, and was happy to have had the time to finally do so.
You can find them sold as individual sets or for a set of three here.

Envelopes

These envelopes are so delicious! They remind me a bit of the map ones I sell, but I love that the paper is itself made from correspondence. Very meta!

Envelope Madness

Remember how I said I made lots of envelopes in one day? Well here they are in the Dumbo Feather Shop - wahoo!

Go and have a look at their mook (magazine + book = mook) - it is a really lovely and inspirational read.

Packing and Moving Forward

What a calming and peaceful wall. All's well at Packing Central. I haven't, ahem, actually started to pack yet, but have left today as my calming down and cooling off day. I have a stack of bad movies, a new empty suitcase and I feel unstoppable!

By the way, the news I had to share is quite exciting. The lovely people at Dumbo Feather asked me to put together envelopes and badges for them made out of previous issues of the magazine. They look lovely, and will hopefully be up in their shop and at some markets. Eee! The only downside was that I had to make 75 envelopes in one day, which is a record even for me!

One Year Etsy-Versary Giveaway!

I can't believe it, but it has been one whole year today since I started selling on etsy! Thank you so much everyone who supported the shop over the past year - I've met some delightful people.

As a celebration, I'm giving away a $20 (US) voucher to my shop (I'll pay shipping)!

All you have to do is leave a comment below (please include your email address if you don't have a blog) and I'll randomly draw a winner on next WEDNESDAY the 8th October, 2008.

**EDITED TO SAY: I'm not particularly keen on people who google 'giveaway' and then leave ingratiating comments. It's lame. At my own discretion, (and the fabulous StatCounter) you will be removed from the draw.

Bam! Kapow!

Mmm secondhand bookstores. The thrill of wandering through them will never wear off for me - it is like an endless mounting of anticipation for the perfect find - whatever that may be.

Let's be honest, sometimes I have a low bar, and get pretty overexcited by the littlest things. But on this day, I stumbled upon some incredibly fabulous comics from the humble decade of my birth - les annees 80s.

They were so old that the advertisements were peppered with adjectives like 'ace' and 'radical' - I could almost feel my old fluoro scrunchies and felt a vague longing for my hologram slapband as I flipped through the pages.

But nothing says 'upcycle' like old comics, so I present to you the newest mini envelopes to appear in the shop! I know, I know, but I've gotten over tearing up books and atlases because I think that I'm giving them a new life. Or that they can then go and give other people little bits of happiness in the form of a letter. Fly, my pretties, fly!
