Sweet cat planters

I think this is the cutest DIY I've seen in a long time. See those little planters? THEY ARE OLD BOTTLES SPRAYED WHITE! Mind. Blown. I can't wait to make these - I'll let you know how I go.

I think I need to quit my job and just knit this blanket forever. Like, never stopping, even to eat. Isn't it amazing? So thick and amazing. The needles alone look threatening. (Sidenote: Loopy Mango is a great brand name!)

A well-organized craft room

Sigh. What a lovely, relaxing-looking space. I remember reading once that Tori Spelling had a whole room in her house for present wrapping, which at the time seemed preposterous. Now it just seems dreamy.

Craft Fair GoodTimes

If you're in San Francisco this weekend, you should check out this craft fair. I'm going to try and get along as a work-break and it has food and crafts and fun. What's not to love?!

New obsession

Did you see this fantastic feature on the Design Files last week? All I can think about is buying a loom. I know, I know. My dear cousin S said, "Shouldn't we leave something for our 40s?" and while she's probably right, this just looks made for me. Colourful, a little bit mathematical and literally room to play. Want. Need?

Collage Night

I went to Collage Night at the Makeshift Society a week or so ago which was super fun. The theme was 'cars' and even though they are really not my thing, I had a lot of fun just cutting and pasting and making new friends. 

Craft Night!

Last night I hosted my very own craft night and had a crazy fun time. I'm thinking this could be a monthly event: I just need to put the next date in and we're all set. I'm thinking each month could have a project that I'd then share on this here blog. Suggestions welcome as I think about this intensely over the next few weeks!

Perfect colourful tray

Why hello geometric, colourful tray! It's made from coated steel, so not suitable for food serving, which is a shame. But it would make such a lovely jewelry organiser or just a feature on a plainer table. 

Sewing Machine

I've wanted a sewing machine pretty much ever since I arrived in the US almost four months ago. But I've been also worrying about investing (or over-investing?) in a machine, as the voltage differences between Australia and the US means that I won't ever be able to take it back home, when I do return one day. (See, Mum? "When" I return!)  But then I saw this Limited Edition (what is it about those words? They make me impulsive!!) black vintage-style Singer, and thought, This. Is. It.

Anyway. I bought it. It was, including shipping and tax on Amazon, $206, which isn't too crazy in the world of sewing machines. And it had great reviews. And hopefully I can re-sell it one day or gift it to a crafty friend. I'm pretty excited for it to arrive...

Modern quilts

I haven't written about quilts in a while. It's not because I've stopped loving them - it's much more because I haven't seen any that I've loved especially. Until now. These three are so wonderful - like quilts for grown ups.

Well aren't you just gorgeous, Cardboard Muji Owl? A little severe in the face, perhaps, but cardboardy and lovely nonetheless.
