Cotton Bags

These are my latest quick-fix sewing project. Sometimes I need to start a project and finish it that hour, just so I can feel like I'm getting something done!

I found the brown and cream elastic at Reverse Garbage and love the vintage feel of it with these fabrics, in particular.
These have already been gifted to some special friends and a new favourite thing to do is to use these to bundle up little packs of fun. Gift wrapping with fabric, if you like! I find them so useful - I often use cotton bags to store all manner of things: camera chargers, batteries, pencils, crafty bits and pieces. They could easily turn into a make up bag or travel laundry bag, too!

  1. Me! Me! I got one!

The perfect film reviewer's kit. It's literally just gone in my handbag, ready for a day of not one but two screenings!

  3. A set of 10 of these would be perfect to give to the mom of a 3 year old girl. That little girl would use them for years.

  4. That's an excellent idea, LPC. I have one from my childhood that has seen life from library books, odds and ends, to being a travel laundry bag! Will keep that in mind - thank you.

  5. Haha! I smiled at the 'having to start something and finish it with in the hour' part. That is often just the ticket when there is a lot going on. Small goals to get the ball moving again.

The brown/cream goes so well with those cottons. Too cute!

  6. Had to let you know that Mum saw mine today and now she wants one! She said surely a bigger one would fit her architectural sketchbook and pencils. I smell a custom order!
