The beautiful scissors you see are my grandmother's (they were her great aunt's before that). Heavy and authoritative, I feel like I'm continuing a tradition when I use them. Below is my dear grandma's jar of buttons, full of hundreds of spare buttons from my mum's school uniforms, jackets and shirts that have long since gone. As a child, I used to love pouring them out and running my hands through them, sorting them into colours and shapes.

That fabric is all so cute! Love it!
ReplyDeleteOh I would love to make a quilt. Gorgeous fabric!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Penny and Yvonne - the patterned fabrics are from kelanifabric.com.au - excellent, reasonably priced range and free postage in Australia. The others are from my own stash - Big W, I think!
ReplyDeleteHi Kate, love the colours you've put together. It's a long process, but well worth the effort. Can't wait to see the finished product...

ReplyDeleteOoh thank you everyone! I really should just sit down and get a few hours down on it further, but it's taking me ages to get all my other work done. Sigh. More photos soon - I promise!
