I've been tagged! The lovely Ashlee of Refashionist has tagged me and here are the rules:
1. Link to your tagger and list these rules on your blog.
2. Share 7 facts about yourself, some random, some weird.
3.Tag 7 people at the end of your post by leaving their names as well as links to their blog.
4. Let them know they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.
I have a weird aversion to frogs (and I call them "froggers". It's unclear why.) I think there is nothing redeemable about them (jumpy, gulpy, slimy, pads on their feet) and anyone who writes and says how cute they are is just plain wrong.
I collect all sorts of papery goodness, but it doesn't really stop at that. I have cases and boxes fulls of ephemera, ribbon, beads, stickers, balloons, stationery, pens, badges, etc. One of the main reasons I am excited about going overseas soon is the ability to collect even more. (There's a corresponding fear about going overseas that The Pal maintains for this very same reason...)
I like making lists (this one is less fun as it's all about me). This extends to lists of things to do, of books to read, of places to go, of people to write letters to. I won't reveal the extent of the listy-ness, suffice to say, you'd probably be alarmed.
I love writing letters to people. I am always so excited to receive them that I think there's nothing more fun than writing them. This ties in well with #2 and #3 of this list.
I am a nerd and at 26, have finally become ok with that. I wear glasses, I geek out on tv series (the West Wing - nerd paradise, anything by Joss Whedon, and The Wire are just some obsessions), I love debating, and have subscriptions to journals like Foreign Affairs, Harper's, NY Review of Books. I also have subscriptions to Real Living and Inside Out and feverishly collect design images which make me swoony. This last part makes me less of a nerd, but I catalogue the images with such a geeky zeal I think it still counts.
I adore books. Any time a book fair is on or there's a chance to pore over secondhand books in particular, I'm there. I have a backlog of books to read which never stops me from forging on ahead. I have six bookcases and they are already overflowing. Any house I own (if I ever do, given the current freak outs of the economy) will have to be book-friendly. And yes, this strongly relates to #5. I am not particularly complex.
I like to make up words or say normal words in strange ways. Apparently when I was three, I used to say "gyla-billa" when I was frustrated, which I guess meant "damn".
There you have it. Weird? Random? Definitely. Will you still be my friend? Who knows!
As for the people I've tagged:

3. TaiChi Fox
5. Eat Tori
6. Monkey Mind
