A 1970s iPod?
Couldn't resist this from the ever-wonderful How to be A Retronaut. I love the faux wood veneer on the front of the iPod especially - it brings back (some of) my childhood.

To Dry For Tea Towels
No, that wasn't my pun - it's from a delightful English tea towel company. In fact, I went to their website and promptly fell down an internet hole. I've emerged, but only after wondering what percentage of one's salary one should spend on tea towels. Holy moley.

Beached Az: Pelican
It's been a while since I wrote about Beached Az - the very clever mini animation series by some of my close friends. This episode, with a flamboyant and fickle pelican, is one of my all-time favourites.

Tiny Victorian House
Did you see this cute little Victorian tiny house yet? So all the way from the red gumboots to the flowers in the window boxes, this is a house I could live in. Like, forever.

Delicate Crochet
Despite my inability to crochet, I have a penchant for rocks in crochet jackets. They look so cosy and warm to me, but I'm sure that has a lot more to do with my own wish to personify inanimate objects that anything else. Either way, these images made by Resurrection Fern are pretty outstanding.

Comfy Abodes
There's something about these pictures that makes me want to curl up on that couch with a book. Could it possibly be the purple, velvety goodness?! And that BED! Comforting and calm on a busy day.

Underwater Love
This extraordinary short film makes me alternately gasp with horror and delight. Ever since I watched The Big Blue years ago, I have been fascinated by free diving. This film, starring Guillaume Nery and filmed by Julie Gautier, encapsulates all that I would love to see in the ocean and simultaneously, all that I know I never will. Yikes.

Junzo Terada
I recently went to Brisbane for a few days (where I met the lovely Kylie) and wandered around a very new-to-me city. I loved the Ron Mueck exhibition at GoMA and found these little sticky notes in the gift shop. (I can't not stop at a gallery gift shop. Sometimes I visit it twice: before AND after the exhibit...) They are by Japanese artist Junzo Terada and I promptly bought them on Book Depository for a trifle.
Sadly, like many Chronicle Books sticky notes, they don't stick!! Has anyone else had this problem? So if you're after some pretties (and they are super pretty) and a pretty big dose of frustration, these are for you.

Quilt Pattern Maker
Well this is just amazing! Not only does the Victoria and Albert Museum have a most excellent iPhone app, but they now have this quilt pattern maker. I think it looks too extreme for me, but what a resource. Something to aspire to!

Pretty Pastels
These colours and mini shelves and frames make me want to throw out all of my possessions and start again. Irrational? Yes. But look at those thermoses (thermii?)!

Life Baggage
Ahem, I am hoping to start a Proper, Full-time Job soon, and realised I have nothing to wear. So I've been quite busy over the past few weeks trying to quickly accumulate a wardrobe which will be functional, warm and not too expensive: turns out I may as well have decided to find the Holy Grail, because it probably would have been easier.
Happily, I have narrowed down some work bag options, but won't buy anything until I know the dimensions of my work laptop. Nerd! I know, but obviously that's important. What do you think of these pretties? They're pretty reasonably priced and come in lots of different colours, too.

Rainbow Cushions
These cushions (and Monsieur Apple Head) make me inexplicably joyous. Rainbows! And bright yellow apple heads! Eeep!

Bookshelves! Bookshelves!
Have you seen this website yet? I just fell into an internet hole for hours looking at these incredible shelves. For me, a house looks naked without books - I have always had a very strong feeling that a room is unfinished without at least a book or two!

Dulux Advertisement
Just a beautiful song (by Sigur Ros singer Jonsi) and an amazing, colourful advertisement. Apparently shot in real locations with no actors - very, very cool. (Thanks for the heads-up Alice - via here.)

A Most Excellent Mantra
These are just plain awesome. Just when you thought that The Wire was the best thing to come out of Baltimore, here come the Baltimore Print Studios! All proceeds from the sales of these posters go to opening the studio itself, so you can feel happy about purchasing a print, support an up-and-coming venture and decorate your housie. Win, win and win!

Urban Outfitters Bedding
What a delicious (and reversible!) quilt. A bit too girly for the Pal and I, but exciting nonetheless!
