Oh yes - finally, a blog re-design. It's been a long time, but here's the newest incarnation of love you big. A little more subdued - a little more minimalist. If you're wondering where my reading list has disappeared to, you can see it at the top ("What I'm Reading").

And if you're game, you can change views on the blog - have a look at Flipcard and Snapshot which are some of my favourites.

These are two of my favourite pics from our trip to Bali. To quote Abbey Nova, this is your daily dose of green! These were taken by the Pal with a panorama app that stitches together your shots, and they were taken in The Maya - a magnificent hotel we stayed at in Ubud.

Lizzie Fortunato: Tablet case

As of recently, I'm the new proud owner of a Xoom tablet (oh yes, it is delightful) but it doesn't yet have a cover. While this one is a little to pricey, I love the colours and pattern.

Our House: reorganised

I promised to show you some pics of the apartment after we re-organised everything (just in time for the owner to sell and now we have to move!)  It's changed a lot since we first moved in - and I'm hopeful we can find a new place which will be just as comfortable. These photos were taken by the real estate agent and, even with the oddly-photoshopped TV! hopefully they give you a sense of what our place looks like. In the above photo, the couch ottoman is floating oddly in front of the couch for some reason, but otherwise it looks exactly how we live in it.

The bedroom. A weird angle to get as you can't see the built-ins or our dressing tables (at the foot of the bed) but glad my teddy Elizabeth was left in shot!

And the kitchen sort of looks the same, but a little more exciting through a wide-angle lens. Hope you enjoyed the mini-tour! Stay tuned for where we're headed next. Sigh. Even I don't know that yet!

Wedges of Spring

Oh la la. Spring feels like it might finally be here and I can begin to countenance shoes which show feet to the open air. These ones by Jeffrey Campbell are on the wishlist.

Swatch This Space

Am trying to store up ideas of fun and renter-friendly designs as we plan to move in the coming weeks/months. This beautiful paint swatch wall jumped out at me: just stunning. Will be keeping this one on the mental clipboard :)

Well isn't this little tray a beauty? Looks delightfully organised. I'm back in Sydney this week after sneaking out last week for a surprise trip for the Pal's birthday. I'll upload photos soon...

Yes, after the organisational spree of this past weekend, we got a call from our real estate agent. The owner of our apartment wants to sell it so we're moving out! After all that arranging and re-arranging... So I'll keep you up to date with where we go - and will promise to post pics of current place soon!

Organising Madness

I spent much of this past weekend (in between lunch with family for Fathers' Day and catching up with friends) in an organising, spring cleaning frenzy. The lounge room has been turned around and the Pal and I feel like we're living in a brand new home. Boxes of old books are on their way to the op-shop, shelves have been dusted and the housie feels like it's wearing a new pair of shoes. Or whatever. Will show pics soon. For now - enjoying this colourful space and its simple lines.

Best. House. Ever.

You may have seen this gorgeous home on an episode of Grand Designs - it has to be my favourite house ever on that show. Designed by Kathryn Tyler, it is the most perfect, Scandinavian modern house. Unlike many that feature on that show, it is practical, humble and just perfectly thought out. Bravo Kathryn! (You can see some highlights of the building process here).
