It's been a long time since I updated you on House Progress. I think once all the basics were here (we had a couch to sit on and a bed to sleep on, etc!) the urgency wore off. Well, it's time to re-evaluate the kitchen. Two things are sorely needed. One is bench space, and the other is a space for people to congregate. Whenever we have people over, they're keen to sit and talk while we prepare and it is invariably uncomfortable to just hang off the walls :) I'm thinking of some sort of unit like this black one which has a little shelf/table to sit at the edge of. It's not like we need comfortable-for-hours seating - it's more just the short intervals of cooking and chatting. This unit and these stools are from the ever-accessible Target - and shouldn't break the bank if we go for something along these lines. I'll keep you posted...

ReplyDeleteKate, I've been ever so lazy on the home front as well. Still need to get art, still need to buy a rug, still need to figure out the general theme. I don't know what I've been doing but I've lived here for over 7 months already!
