In exciting news, we've found a new apartment to rent! Promise to show pictures soon, but I'm so relieved: the house hunting was getting me down and now I get to day dream about how to decorate it. One thing I would like is plants. Lots of plants. And hopefully, I will not kill them.

Sleepy nook
This sleepy nook is another favourite nook of mine. There's something about the angles and the linen that look so comforting.

Midnight in Paris
I saw this film this week and just loved it. Just charming, simple, well-written and, well, kind of a fantasy of mine. Have you seen it? What did you think?

1 year anniversary present
Well, he's done it again. The Pal gave me this incredible sculpture for our 1st wedding anniversary (I know - it's been a year!) and I adore it. The backstory is that we saw it a long time ago in a local cafe and I loved it back then. Of course when we went back, it was sold, and I lost hope that it might be ours. Lo and behold on our anniversary, The Pal gave it to me. And of course - the first anniversary is paper. Yep, I know. He's amazing.

1st wedding anniversary
The Pal and I celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary on the weekend. We spent a beautiful, sunny day in the park with a Sydney Picnic and it genuinely couldn't have been lovelier. Picnic + sun + The Pal = much happiness.

25 Ways to Wear a Scarf
This is a fairly life-altering video. I'm just saying. I took notes.

Sneaking Duck
As a proud glasses wearer, it's been an ongoing frustration that glasses are expensive and hard to buy without trying on. And the sites that usually allow a virtual try-on are usually only based in the US. Happily, my friend Mark has launched a very excellent site called Sneaking Duck which has super reasonably priced glasses which are incredibly fun and stylish. This is the pair I have - they are super cute and I love wearing them. A little cat eye for the summer. Have a look and let me know which pair you like!

Black and whites
Posting this for my sister, E, as she's a black-and-white devotee. Love the patterned pillow case with the block colours everywhere else.

Triangles
It's obviously a triangle-y week, but this coloured cushion (ahem - sensing a theme?!) and the poster are just fantastic. I know these pictures are for a children's room, but I think the bold graphics could work anywhere.

Corner pictures
These are so much fun! What a great idea. Frantically looking around the house for old frames. The glass bit seems the trickiest...

Blues and triangles
Well there's an original post title. Just loved the blue cushions on this couch - and the way there are subtle blues in the gallery wall behind. Beautiful.

Filling Spaces: Reclaimed Sarees
These throw rugs are made from reclaimed sarees and I think they are a delightful quilt-alternative. Much like Persian rugs, they could really fit in a lot of different type of rooms and they look pretty spectacular.
Have a lovely weekend!

In-credenz-able!
I was lucky enough to spend two nights with my good friend A in San Francisco. We had loads of fun and especially fun was helping to re-arrange her furniture. I made a bold and somewhat unfounded assertion that she needed a credenza and so we went shopping for one. Oddly enough, we found a beauty and it arrived before I left! We had lots of fun styling it - and settled on the above (the print in the middle will eventually hang on the wall).
Here's a close-up of the lamp we bought, too, some excellent Penguins and some little Kiwi figurines.
I also had to give you a close-up of this magnificent paper horse sculpture by Sydney-based artist Anna-Wili Highfield. Words can't do it justice. It has movement, personality and delicacy - it's just beautiful.I think it really makes the room, and look forward to seeing the ways that A re-arranges the space. Thanks for having me!

Designer Detergent
You know when you travel and sometimes you buy odd things? Yeah, you know the things you think are a little too odd to share? Well, internet, I went to San Francisco and bought some amazing detergent, mainly because I liked the bottle. It also smells of brilliant lemons and has a very cool old-school bottle. (For those of you in the US, it was from Target and about $3. Oh the small things in life).

Marimekko Love
When I was in the US, I bought home some cheeky Marimekko purchases in the form of this salad bowl which makes me deeply happy, and these two matching little bowls. Ever since the Captain made me my first gift of Marimekko, I have been wondering how I could acquire more black and white goodness. Turns out, all you need to do is fly 15 hours, walk the city of San Francisco, walk into a Crate and Barrel store, find the pieces you want, realise they're half price in USD, buy them with squeals of joy, get blisters on your hands from carrying the box back through two international airports and then lug them up your stairs. Easy peasy! But these bad boys are most definitely worth it...

Gone AWOL
Oops. So I went walkabout. I had planned to blog on-the-go last week, but ended up visiting San Francisco for work, and here I am back again, with a little bit of blog-guilt.
To make up for it, here is (one of the many) glorious meals I had. This one is a Napa Valley wine with a life-changing cheese plate at Mission Cheese on Valencia St. And yes, those are dried cranberries, figs and peaches near the bread, and yes, they were awesome.
