When we were in Dubai, we attended one of my bestie's wedding. He married a lovely British-Indian woman and we all wore saris and had hennaed hands. (I'm the one with the red bangles). It was a most wonderful three days of celebration.
How gorgeous! We went to an Indian wedding when we lived in London and it went on all day and night... just amazing. I love the celebratory feel of it all. Kx
ReplyDeleteSo nice! How long does it stay on and is there a significance to the fact that it goes up the index finger?
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! I would love to wear a sari - are they easy to manage?
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely stunning! I love the colors!
ReplyDelete@ de tout de rien: It is still on! It's so far lasted about one week in quite dark colour, then two more weeks in pale colour. I don't know about index finger significance - I thought it was just decorative, but know you have me wondering!
ReplyDelete@ Janet NZ: Yes, I would LOVE to wear mine more often! They are very comfortable and regal-feeling. There is 5m of fabric to manage, though, so you have to be careful of how you walk :)
I can walk slow and genteel! Thank you. I think sari is the most elegant 'dress' ever. xx
ReplyDeleteAhh the memories! If I peer hard enough I can still see faint patterns on my palms.
ReplyDeleteI love these photos :)
Wow! I love this glimpse into the trip and the wedding!
