Read More Books

I know, I know. It's a bit rich that I'm telling you to read books on a blog. But I do love the printed word, and I try to get offline as much as I can to read. And now you have a pretty incentive, complete with mug of coffee for the full-stop.

  1. So I'll be controversial here ... why more books than blogs? Isn't the medium simply evolving? We don't read scrolls anymore ;-) Are words less beautiful on a screen than a page? Just finished Museum of Innocence, and I think the language was so exquisite that I would have loved it just the same if it had been spelt out in fleas on the back of a camel ;-)

  2. But there's is still something magical about the smell and feel of a book in your hands...

  3. Great point, Annie. I don't have any problems with the media used to read books - if anyone wants to buy me an ipad to read them, I'd gladly read books on it.
My point though, is that I need to encourage myself to read books - fiction - and stay off the computer sometimes. It's so easy to read blogs and online news and jump from one link to another that sometimes I crave the quiet solitude of sitting with a book in my hands.
I'd also love to learn how to read Flea :)
