Indoor Plant Life

Adore these plant shots. Wanting to head back to a nursery this weekend to get some more for our house - I'm obsessed.

New Doormat

I was looking for a new doormat for our house for ages and found deeply boring ones, everywhere. I eventually settled on this nice one with a key, but I just saw this one with the fox which of course makes me think twice about the key. I think the right choice was made, but just saying, that fox is quite adorable. (Too adorable to wipe feet on, perhaps?!).

EOS

My lovely friend G put me onto these lipbalms and this pic (of course) made me want to buy all of them. What amazing little pots of colour! (And they're actually great lipbalm, too, if you are at all interested).

I love this

This poster makes it seem like I'm having a tough time: I promise I'm not, I just thought it's a lovely thing to remember and nicely articulate. For today I say, thank you!

These diaries from Ban.do are really gorgeous and are making me wish I used a paper diary these days.

I like this paper rhino. I especially like that it can "requires Houdini moves" to assemble. Very good, Rhino. Very good.

New house pics

Finally! The long weekend here gave me the chance to make some finishing touches to the house and I wanted to share a few progress pics. Lovely to actually move into a house in the US with furniture as opposed to last time when we had two suitcases and an air mattress!  The above is my favorite wall - finally, a gallery wall after years of blogging about other peoples'! I'll take some more up-close pics at some point if you're interested, but it's a refreshing feel after a pale wall of nothing these past few weeks.  And yes, these photos are terrible, but perhaps better than nothing? One day I'll get a camera and not a phone...

     

This is to the left of the wall, computer cords just to keep it real. We get really nice light through this window and a lovely breeze from the front door, too. It makes me unspeakably happy.

                                      

And the right of the wall - you can see the fireplace in the corner, which I'm still really working out what to do with.

                                      

Here's our gold-toothed walrus, our house spirit who keeps watch for us. Those are badly lit fairy lights in the hearth which we light at night.

 Our drinks table, and a very special sculpture to me by our good friend Oliver Tanner.

The lounge room. Much smaller than our old one, but cosy and sweet to me. Sorry - this one is a little blurry.

Blue Moon

Well this is spectacular. A gorgeous print to ring in a long weekend over here - it's the Fourth of July tomorrow and I'm excited to see friends and finish off a few house-related things. Hope to share photos next week!
