New Marimekko range

Err, can we please talk about your brand new range, Marimekko? It's like a tie-dyed version of heaven or a perfectly blurry horizon. It sadly doesn't exactly go with the rest of my kitchenware but oh goodness it's beautiful.

Books galore

Oooh. There are days where I really, really miss all of my books. They're all back in Sydney, stored at my parents' house, waited for me. I don't know what I'll end up doing with them - perhaps bring over 10 at a time each time I visit?! (There are hundreds!) Love the black wall and these books jumping off the page - what a great shot.

House Progress XI

It's been a long time since I updated you on House Progress. I think once all the basics were here (we had a couch to sit on and a bed to sleep on, etc!) the urgency wore off. Well, it's time to re-evaluate the kitchen. Two things are sorely needed. One is bench space, and the other is a space for people to congregate. Whenever we have people over, they're keen to sit and talk while we prepare and it is invariably uncomfortable to just hang off the walls :) I'm thinking of some sort of unit like this black one which has a little shelf/table to sit at the edge of. It's not like we need comfortable-for-hours seating - it's more just the short intervals of cooking and chatting. This unit and these stools are from the ever-accessible Target - and shouldn't break the bank if we go for something along these lines. I'll keep you posted...

Delightful living room

Funny seeing so many of my favorite things in a room that isn't mine. The black and white rug, the calendar, the Eames chairs - I've had all of these either in a past house or the current one, so this home looks very homey to me.
