Loving this big old trunk. I bought a similar one recently, and I have yet to show it to you: it's in a spot which seems a bit diabolically bad for photographing, but I'll do my best soon. I do love how these two are stacked on top of each other...

When I first saw these images, I thought they were stunning, swirling circles drawn in pencil. On closer inspection, I realised they are made up of small pins! Beautiful work by artist Tara Donovan.

I found these magnificent Japanese matchbox labels, and thought they'd be a lovely tribute to what's happening in Japan - thinking of you all daily, and hoping desperately for happy resolution to such a tense time.

Design Files does it again. Lucy manages to find the best homes, and this bedroom is such great inspiration: I'm thinking of making some more poms in different colours and hanging them in our house. What a beautiful grey colour. (And those polka dots!)

Like most of us, I've been deeply upset by the earthquake in Japan. I've donated to the Red Cross appeal (which my work gift-matches, effectively doubling my donation, which is amazing). In case you're feel like helping the beautiful country, the artful Swedish photographer Hilda Grahnat has set up a shop called 'Help Japan' which sells some of her prints and postcards. I'd thoroughly recommend donating or buying some of her prints: you are both helping Japan, and supporting a beautiful artist at the same time.
Image from our incredible trip to Japan in 2009.

I found these brilliant cards on etsy, and have promptly bought many of them. (In fact, if you receive one from me, please forget this blog post, and admire the cards!) I have been giggling at "Sincerely, the Unicorns" for ages.

My beautiful cousin Sarah made her window into a birdcage - and was kind enough to let me gush about it here. I adore it - the hanging cranes, the cool colour on the walls. One day I'll have to show you the rest of the house...

These are breathtaking! Such crumpled, pastel glory - love that these are feminine, but abstract and linear, too. Denmark has just got to stop being too fashionable - it's painful not to be there and see it all!

I grew up reading Greek and Roman myths, and haven't stopped being an ancient history nerd. I also used to collect stamps as a young girl, and my 10 year old self would have freaked out at these magnificent, modern creations. Ok, I'm probably still freaking out.
